29th Annual Winter Weather Forecast Conference

Portland, Oregon – After one of the most significant snow and ice storms in nearly 40 years across western Oregon last February, mother nature’s La Nina is back… again! Cooler than normal ocean water temperatures have returned to the tropical Pacific. What does this mean for valley snowfall chances, the mountain ski season and seasonal rainfall / hydrology? The Oregon Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) will once again host the 29th annual “Winter Weather Forecast Conference” Saturday, October 23rd @ 10AM PDT. Regional meteorologists from across the Pacific Northwest will once again give their annual forecasts for the upcoming winter, as well as taking a look back at the last year.

Due to Covid-19, there will be NO in-person event at OMSI again this year. Instead, we will again stream the meeting via Facebook Live for our members and the general public. The meeting will commence at 10am PDT. This video will also be available for later playback. Here is the link for the meeting: https://www.facebook.com/OregonAMS/. Attendees will NOT need to sign in to Facebook in order to view the stream.
