30th Annual Oregon AMS Winter Weather Forecast Conference Less Than 2 Weeks Away

The Oregon Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) will host the 30th annual “Winter Weather Forecast Conference” on Saturday, October 22nd at 10AM at OMSI in Portland.

Meteorologists from across the Pacific Northwest will once again converge on Portland to give their annual forecasts for the upcoming winter to a capacity crowd of nearly 300 attendees. La Nina conditions continue to be present in the tropical Pacific Ocean (note the cool sea surface anomaly!) 

This is a rare 3rd consecutive La Nina winter. What could that mean and what lies ahead? The Portland office of the National Weather Service will headline followed by additional speakers.  This meeting is free and open to all ages of the general publicPlease arrive early for best seating.

The Oregon AMS chapter will be raffling off not one, but TWO $300 Davis home weather stations to 2 lucky attendees.
