Synopsis: The Pacific Northwest storm that set the bar for all other storms will be described by University of Washington Atmospheric Science Professor and author, Dr. Cliff Mass. Why was this storm so unusual? Could it occur again? Can we forecast unusual events like this? In a second segment, Dr. Mass will take a look at future advances in weather technology and science. How will Northwest forecasting change during the next several decades? The Oregon Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) in conjunction with OMSI is offering this meeting to the general public. Please arrive early for the best seating.
